Bear with me for this last post about making money and Niche Marketing here. After this, all this kind of post will be only appearing in Blog Gigs, which I had intended to sell but have changed my mind today. I think I have found the direction for that blog, so I will do some reviving and change of theme in the next couple of days and take the “for sale” notice down. If someone had offered something irresistable, I would have sold it last week, but as it turned out, there was none that was acceptable to me after one week and since I have a change of heart, I will stop the sale, though I said I will keep the offer up for two weeks before going to Sitepoint. Anyway, this is not the topic of discussion today. Today, it is about niche marketing.

I signed up with another affiliate company called MoreNiche today and I sent out 5 invitations for some of my buddies to join me. For those who are interested, they can sign up too, but let me explain a little bit before you decide.

These days, to make some real serious money, you will have to defer yourself from writing paid reviews, selling links and all those click and get one cent kind of programs. These are good if you just want to make some spare pocket money and have some fun seeing easy money going into your PayPal, but for a long term online income, affiliate marketing is the way to go and by that I don’t mean starting one blog like this and start inserting affiliate links. You will never make money that way, if you are interested in making money that is. If you want to have just one blog and make some small cash, use Adsense. At least you will see a few cents a day. If you want to see a one or two dollars use Adster and advertise adult links like me. LOL. Everyone likes porn mah.

Affiliate Marketing is about promoting products, you all know that, but not like John Chow. If you have a readership base like him and have readers who worships you like he does, then it would be okay because when he tells his readers to buy or to sign up, they follow him like as though he is their god. For you and me, no way. For nobodies like us, we go for Niche Marketing. That means we target one single product at a time with one single dedicated site.

You will be skeptical at first, thinking this will never work, but trust me. It does work. I am now sitting on 11 such sites. Sometimes I can go on for 3 days without a single sale. Some days I make more than $20, so on average I make about 5 dollars per day and that is from 4 sites, which meets my target of making a dollar a day for each site. The others are still so new that they are not getting any serious traffic yet. Yes it works, but you will have to make it work. You can’t start a site, dump in the products and expect people to to come and buy.

Coming back to the latest program that I signed up with. MoreNiche. The site is new so there isn’t much Advertisers yet but what captivated me was the tools they supply to their affiliates. Other than the usual banners and text links which do not convert for blogs like these, they have full html templates that are professionally designed so you can start your own mini niche site and I absolutely loved this.

I already have a hosting package from Bluehost that allows me to add in unlimited domains. All I have to do is to get a cheap domain name with the right keywords for the products I want to promote, upload their ready template and I’m ready to go. Of course I won’t be getting any traffic just by doing that, so the next cool thing is MoreNiche has provided all their affiliates with information on how to promote their site. The information there is very useful and if you follow what is taught, you will get the traffic. On top of that they have 22 ebooks that you can download for free all on how to make the most out of the program.

Lastly, when it comes to affiliate marketing, think broad and think international. Malaysians don’t buy much online. They are skeptical of those sales pages. Americans buys the craziest things online and the market is out there. The only thing you have to do is to get them. One more thing, think volume. All those A List money makers have 100 to 200 such sites.
